Solana's Story

Our flexible curriculum and can-do atmosphere allow you to go above and beyond classroom learning to prepare for success. Solana Petrone is a musical theater student who pursued her dream of studying abroad in Greece. A proud member of the Zeta Theta Psi sorority and a student leader in the campus community.

Study Abroad Organizations

Spanish Studies Abroad

Study in Seville, Alicante or Barcelona Spain; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Havana, Cuba or Cordoba, Argentina. Required for Spanish majors, open to all students.

Cemanahuac Educational Community

This summer program takes you to Cuernavaca, Mexico where you’ll live with a host family while practicing the language and traveling to cultural and archaeological significant sites.

Oxford Study Abroad Program

Study in England at one of the world’s most famous institutions: Oxford University. You’ll work with world-renowned professors and learn through Oxford’s unique tutorial style teaching.

The rest of the world

There are possibilities for study abroad almost anywhere in the world. Heidelberg has affiliations with programs that offer study in various countries around the world such as American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), International Studies Abroad and The Education Abroad Network (TEAN), and Semester at Sea.

Through these programs, our students have studied in places such as Italy, Australia, South Africa, Ghana, China, Morocco, England, Ireland, Turkey, South Korea, and Costa Rica.

Short-Term Study Programs

Heidelberg faculty regularly take classes or groups on trips abroad. In recent years, faculty members have taken students to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Scotland, Belize, Mexico, and Canada. These trips usually occur over breaks.

Shaadia studied abroad at the University of Glasgow in Scotland through a connection with the Honors Program. It also fulfilled her psychology major junior year experience.
